Tileable: Wooden desk with gears (large and small)
![]() |
Title: Wooden desk with gears Description: Simple wooden desk with gears. Due to an optical illusion, sometimes the gears seem to rotate… at least to some people. I’ve included two sizes. The large tiles approximately twice across the screen, and the small one tiles about 4 times. Type: tileable Credits: Hand created in Photoshop, with brushes from Ewark . |

Hello,
I wanted to know if the gears you use are from brushes you got on deviantart, and if they are these ones ?

YES! Oh, thank you! I downloaded them a long time ago, and put them in my big ‘brushes’ set before I started this site. I lost the original abr file, and I then couldn’t remember where I got them from. (I even had an apology in my original page that I couldn’t find the brushes creator: ) I’ll update the credits, and beg your forgiveness. These are great brushes! (note: somehow this didn’t nest the first time. the note below came before the note above. )

Oh well it’s okay, it’s just I find this funny ’cause I make a comment on a friend’s myspace page in which one I thanks here for using my brushes for the background and she answered me that it wasn’t hers but yours and I wanted to make sure it was really MY brushes and yes it was. You could send me a message because without here I would never found your —wonderful— website ! And by the way, thanks for the credits and no need to apologize, I was just curious : I like to see how people use my brushes and you do a very good job. =]

Hello,
I’ve got a question: May I use this pic for a computer skin like one of these: http://designskins.com/ or http://www.tortoise-design.com/

Yes you may, provided you (or anyone else) isn’t making money off of it. If you are just buying a custom skin, go for it! But if you’re selling a skin, we have to talk.

No, just for me…
THX!!!
Btw: YOU could provide the wallpapers as skins…

I could, I suppose, but many of the pictures I use as base materials are ALSO Creative Commons licensed, which means I can’t make money of of them either!
But I could use some of them that I paint myself. Hm… Wish I spoke something other than English, now. Not for the first time, either.

Oh yeah, I forgot; can you post a picture when you get it?

So, would this be okay to use as a background for a website I’m making for someone?

You may, as long as you credit the site and provide a linkback to SteampunkWallpaper.com, and link put the Creative Commons License (in my sidebar) with the credit. For instance, something like “Background graphic courtesy of Steampunk Wallpaper, used under Creative Commons.”

Hi Mousewrite!
I am a small (me, myself and I alone) part-time app developer from Perth Western Australia. My company is Steam-Powered Software.
I hope its okay, but I have use the small wooden desk with gears image as a background on my website http://www.steampoweredsoftware.com
I am writing ebooks and Steampunk apps for the iPhone and iPad.(None of which are on the app store yet as they are still in design and production.)
I shall provide a link to SteamPunkWallpaper.com and put the CC license in the credit as you posted above. Thanks for your cool website.
I am inspired to create by the creative steampunk worldwide community of artists and makers. I use purchased textures and designs as I wish to support the artists I love so much including those on this site.
Best wishes and regards,
