Gear brushes used in my pictures are from several people. Unfortunately, I've lost the credit file of who all of those people are.
Title: Gaslamps Description: Green walls with gaslamps. Type: Fullscreen, 1280×1024 Credits: Based off the picture by the justified sinner. Creative Commons licensed derivative.
NOTE: If you want other colors of wallpaper on the background, comment and I’ll work on it.
Title: Mechanic’s Badge Description: This popped into my head on the way home tonight. I had originally thought of it as a steampunk doctor’s badge (my robot is broken! Help!), but the caduceus (the winged staff surrounded by snakes) is not actually the medical badge. So, instead, here is the badge of the Aeronaught. Type: Fullscreen, 1280×1024 Credits: Based on lots of pictures:
Title: The Secretary Description: Whew. Lots of hand work in this one, and a lot of sources. I’m going to go to sleep before my hands drop off! Type: Fullscreen, 1280×1024 Credits: Based off the following pictures:
Title:A Second Clue Description: By request, another paper in the style of Map to a Factory long Gone. This one’s widescreen, and a bit brighter in mood. Type: Widescreen, 1680×1050 Credits: Based off the picture by Digimatt. Creative Commons licensed derivative.
Title: Edgecrumb’s Flying Toasting Machine Description: Dusted off my 3D skills for this one. 3DS Max, lots of Grunge textures, and a few hours of pounding my head into the desk. Homage to After Dark’s iconic Flying Toasters screensaver. The wings are based on da Vinci’s flying machine, though it’s hard to tell at this angle. Flying toasters of love, indeed! Type: Fullscreen, 1280×1024 Credits: Handmade in 3DS Max and Photoshop. Released under a Creative Commons license. Idea seed planted by Four Naught Four on this BoingBoing post.
Title: Gearswoop 1 Description: Simple wallpaper, based on what I wanted my EEE desktop wallpaper to look like but was unable to get it to do. I may make a special “frekin’ weird” sized version of this for those of use with mini computers in our lives. Type: Fullscreen, 1280×1024 Credits: Hand made in Photoshop with a gear brush and too much time on my hands. Creative Commons licensed wallpaper.
Title:Leftovers Description: This one is almost entirely Balakov’s amazing photo, with only small stuff done by me. Balakov is amazing. Type: Widescreen, 1680×1050 Credits: Based off the picture by Balakov. Creative Commons licensed derivative.
I’m working on something a bit more labor intensive than my normal wallpapers, which is why the last few have been so plain. Hopefully it will be done on Sunday, and I can let my poor processor rest a bit.
There, was that tantalizing?
Also, we’ve experienced a huge (and I do mean huge,) drop off in hits today. Not sure what happened, but I hope if people aren’t happy with the wallpapers they’d let me know. I swear I can take criticism!
Title: Cog Description: Macro shot of a cog. A simple paper. Type: Fullscreen. 1280×1024 Credits: Based of the picture by Balakov. Creative Commons licensed derivative. (Balakov, sorry so much for forgetting the link! I swear, my head wasn’t screwed on right last night!)

A few people have given me permission to post a wallpaper they have made. Some of these make my eyeballs drop out of my head they’re so beautiful. FlameRaven was the first, so here’s her lovely paper.
Artists! If you’d like to be featured on SteampunkWallpaper.com, drop me a comment. I promise I won’t sell your email addresses to villain-types.

For now, it’s labeled as Copyrighted.)
Title: Broken Window Description: This one suggested by someone (I’m trying to find your post! if it was you, please comment!), but it’s the first one I’ve not liked so far. I’ll redo it at some point, but I must sleep tonight. Le Sigh. I guess I’m not going to make a winner every time. Type: Fullscreen, 1280×1024 Credits: Based of the picture by Killbox. Creative Commons licensed directive. (Name corrected. Sorry about that, Killbox!)

First of all, I upgraded to WordPress 2.6. Let me know if you have any issues with it.
Second: I’m adding 16:9 and 4:3 to the tags to make things easier to find.
Third, you may have noticed that all the wallpapers this week are 16:9. I had a bunch of requests for widescreen papers, so I dedicated this week to catch up. But according to my stat widget thingy, most people who are visiting this site are at 1280×1024.
A few of the 4:3 papers I’ve done were at 1280×960, which (at the time) I thought was more standard than the 1024. (I know the math is wrong. Just roll with it for now. ) Obviously I was incorrect
I’m going to TRY to make a variety of sizes for the wallpapers. As a designer, I’m not satisfied by just cropping a 16:9 image into a 4:3 one, (though, if you choose ‘center’ in your desktops display properties, some 16:9 papers will look OK on a 4:3 monitor), so it’ll take me a while to catch up. In the meantime, you 16:9 people can gloat that you have Robot Calling and Mary’s First Invention, and the 4:3s flip you off with Steamyfox and Map to a Factory Long Gone.
I’ll be putting up a poll at some point so that I can keep an eye on what aspect ratio you guys prefer, but you can drop me a comment now, if you’d like!

Type: Widescreen, 1680×1050 Credits: Based of the picture by an unknown artist. Library of Congress image found again though Pingnews. No known restrictions on publication for the base picture, but elements in this picture from Hugovk.
